Job Description: L3Harris Space & Sensors Division is seeking a Material & Production Planning Specialist to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning material requirements and scheduling materials to support manufacturing and program requirements for the Cryocooler production labs. Other responsibilities will include analyzing data and supplying material status to the organization and partnering with the supervisor to work cross-functionally. Although there will be no direct supervisory responsibilities, the Production Planning Specialist may still be required to direct workflow through written and verbal communications to other members of the team.

Essential Functions:

  • Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements.
  • Distributes production schedules or work orders to departments.
  • Determines personnel needs, materials requirements and material priorities.
  • Reviews documents such as production schedules, work orders and staffing tables.
  • Maintains requisitions and inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Arranges for delivery, assembly and distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality and supply chain. Interfaces external customers, engineering and program management with status of work in progress.
  • Works under general supervision and provides guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience using Costpoint for WIP transactions and data processing including operational experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in operational environment responsible for production control, material movement transactions, and manufacturing support
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using Costpoint and MES for WIP transactions and data processing including operational experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to communicate with a variety of levels and job functions within the organization and identified as an individual who is able to clearly communicate and problem solve.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD clearance as needed, which requires US citizenship.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management/Business preferred
  • Supply Chain Management experience.
  • Logistics and packaging experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with the management of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods is preferred.
  • Proven experience with monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • Operational experience in a manufacturing environment supporting material planning or production control responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
