Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with excellent multitasking abilities who thrives in a fast-paced environment. In this position, you are responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily screen-printing operations. The production supervisor is responsible for increasing productivity with innovative methods and motivating team members to excel. You will oversee quality standards and costs and enforce health and safety regulations.
The production supervisor’s primary responsibilities are to oversee and monitor the inspection, scheduling, and quality of screen-printing production, to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Provide leadership and guidance for the screen print department. Prepare department for of start of the day, arriving early and ensuring machines are ready to run when staff arrives. Verify and approve work orders for accuracy and troubleshooting when needed.
To succeed as a production supervisor, you must adapt and adjust quickly. You should demonstrate exceptional planning skills, which ultimately translate to high production rates. Outstanding production supervisors are excellent negotiators who act decisively when solving production issues.
What is Expected From You:
- Actively lead and manage the production team.
- Coordinate and maintain the production and maintenance schedules.
- Supervise and train production associates for growth and development. Ensuring associates are qualified and trained in the assigned position.
- Optimize efficiency following budgets and cost objectives.
- Coach Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work.
- Build a valuable work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks.
- Through Process Confirmation, verify the lines are running safely and efficiently and produce quality parts.
- Supervise preventive maintenance schedules, preventive and predictive inspections, and repairs to reduce downtime.
- Analyze and set up equipment based upon product and order specifics, following brand standards for consistency, accuracy, and quality.
- Play a significant role in the long-term planning, project status reporting, and implement change control processes.
- Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices, ensuring the warehouse complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other pertinent standards/regulations.
What You Need to Succeed:
At a minimum:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of proven experience with first-rate supervisory and leadership skills.
- 2+ years experience in a quality management role
- 2+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating large automatic presses for the apparel industry.
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead, drive change, and influence others
- Solid understanding of policy, planning, and strategy
- Superior time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime.
- Resiliency; respond well to constructive feedback.
Requires the ability to:
- Must be able to traverse the production facility.
- Tolerate an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud.
- Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments.
- Prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
- Perform inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time.
- Ability to stand and walk for long hours
- Must be able to use computer keyboard and company software programs.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
