SUMMARY: Manages the day-to-day sub-assembly and final assembly production operations to meet the customer demand.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create momentum/output from production operators
- Read, understand, and communicate production needs to the production operators
- Prioritize workload for maximum output
- Assign stations and workload based on priorities from the production schedule
- Adjust priorities to meet shipping requirements
- Communicate issues with job progress to Production Manager
- Update production schedule with end of day results and report to Production manager
- Recognize stalling, slow performance, and/other operator driven production bottlenecks and correct them
- Match production needs to employee performance/abilities
- Accept responsibility for production outputs
- Work with Engineering to make changes required to improve/correct work instructions
- Perform first piece, change, and end of run sign-offs
- Manage WIP area and push parts through
- Communicate at shift-change (issues and stages of production)
- Second shift to leave documentation for AM shift
- Manage 5S on the floor
- Manage off-count production parts with proper disposition/ completion
- Ensure that extra wires/components are built-out and sent to overflow
- ID leftover components
- Scrap excess materials not available for inventory (Bags)
- Notify quality department of urgent/hot parts that need to ship same day
- Learn new processes and parts
- Assist in creating general work instructions
- Build prototype harnesses
- Train and mentor new employees
- Train, evaluate, and develop existing employees
- Communicate needs for improved workflow
- Perform role with minimal direction/input from production manager
- Treat all employees fairly
- Report exceptional/unacceptable behavior to Production Manager/HR
- Delegate/re-assign small tasks to operators (Re-stocking, replenishing, WIP inventory, specific training, rework)
- Post and explain/train quality alerts
- Review, monitor, address production tracking sheets (individual performance)
- Recognize operators for good performance
- Address poor performance
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
- Manufacturing process knowledge required
- Harness assembly experience a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Working in a manufacturing plant atmosphere. Bending, lifting and standing for extended periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
