Job Summary:

The Vertex Program Manager of Courseware Development will provide program execution and administrative over Courseware development programs. Key aspects of the position include providing technical leadership to the Instructional Design team, developing, documenting and applying corporate processes. The Program Manager will develop program budgets, schedules and spend plans, and assist the Business Unit Lead in and corporate finance to determine work in progress, estimates to complete and other project analytics. The PM must have strong Courseware and/or interactive media experiance, knowledge of the ADDIE process, and working knowledge of various content development tools and Learning Management Systems. This position also is responsible for monitoring and controlling project costs, schedule, and quality of products and will also serve as the prime point of contact with customers, department managers, and executive management.

Essential Functions:

  • Primary responsibility for cost, schedule and technical performance on all assigned projects and accurately reporting program metrics to company leadership.
  • Create staffing plans, schedules, and budgets, to include work breakdown structures with labor categories and hours estimates, in support of the project execution and profit goals
  • In depth knowledge of design and development of all levels of Courseware, including Complex Media and Simulations.
  • Identify and manage all program risks with timely reports to company leadership of risk scenarios and mitigation strategies.
  • Respond to all customer technical and operational questions with appropriate assistance from other departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate subcontractors performance to ensure cost, technical, and schedule requirements are met.
  • Ensure the highest quality of task completion, meeting contractual performance criteria and deliverables in accordance with the contract

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position will require multiple direct and indirect reports to meet contract requirements.

Travel:
5% - 10% travel is anticipated for this position to support business development efforts and to attend and participate in trade shows.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution; Master s degree a plus
  • 3+ years of experience managing projects/programs within or for the DoD
  • Fundamental understanding of Accounting and Finance as related to Program Management
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • VR simulation-based training experience
  • Aircrew formal instructor experience/familiarity with UPT training technologies
  • Experience with the integrated military, government, and civilian training simulation development and delivery
  • An active security clearance is a plus

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Background checks- criminal, civil, employment, and education required. Drug screening in compliance with drug-free workplace standards. Ability to obtain a federal government clearance when required for projects.
