Program Manager- Outpatient Mental Health Program
Job description
New Alternatives is looking for a Program Manager to oversee an outpatient program. The ideal candidate will have past management experience and have solid experience engaging youth and providing mental health services to children and families in San Diego’s Children/Youth/Families System of Care (CYF-SOC).
The program seeks to decrease the need to utilize high end crisis services by meeting the unmet needs when suicidality is present within the youth and or the family. We provide strength based therapeutic services while collaborating with other providers to meet the level of needs for families. We are an intensive Outpatient Mental Health Program contracted with San Diego Behavioral Health. We provide 1:1, and family therapy with diverse families typically suffering with intergenerational trauma that continues to manifest within their family system and their community.
Manage a team of committed mental health professionals. NAI will deliver services in the areas of trauma, anger management, gender identity, substance use disorders. Additionally, we will be focused on providing a warm hand-off, case management, individual therapy and the rehabilitative services needed to support the child or youth in their transition.
New Alternatives, Inc. falls under the California Public Health Order and is additionally required by our county contract to ensure that all employees are vaccinated against COVID-19.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the direction and programming Outpatient Services, maintaining a sense of urgency in executing a short-term, linkage model
- Oversight of a certified Medi-Cal clinic that provides crisis intervention and stabilization services to children, youth, and families.
- Ensures that the program operates in compliance with Agency’s policies and procedures; all Federal and State regulations; the County’s policies and procedures; all accreditation standards, and all contract requirements, goals objectives, and outcomes.
- Daily/weekly duties include, but are not limited to: a) plans, organizes, and coordinates daily operation of program; b) ensures staff training in all competencies relevant to program services; c) ensures that all staff have the tools and support needed to perform their duties; d) ensures quality assurance functions are completed on time; e) conducts quarterly program and staff evaluations; f) oversees outcome/completion-of-service studies from youth and families and follows up immediately on any youth or family concerns.
- Monitors daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly statistics on program trends to assist team in making program shifts to better serve youth and families in need.
- Monitors daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly productivity to assist team in making billing adjustments to better serve youth and families in need.
- Participates in clinical consultations as needed, providing clinical feedback and administrative direction; available 24 hours per day/ 7-days per week for consultation as needed.
- Participate in trainings, exhibit competency and utilize the following evidence based and promising practices: Trauma Informed Care practices, Life Space Crisis Intervention, Motivational Interviewing, additional as deemed appropriate.
- Understand, embrace and be a TIC champion in ALL aspects of their role
- Develops and maintains supportive and collaborative relationships between all staff and line staff, supervisor and leadership team, and ensure that any and all complaints/concerns are resolved swiftly.
- Develop and maintain collaborative and supportive relationships with other Organizational Providers and other organizations, resources and agencies in the community.
Bilingual/Bicultural preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or a License Clinical Psychologist. Current California License required.
Other Experience Requirements: A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with youth and families, with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience including staff and clinical supervision and a minimum of two years’ experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
