AIR is seeking a Project Associate to join our Workforce Program Area within AIR’s Human Services Division. Project Associates play an important role in helping implement workforce development initiatives across the country. They work on projects with federal and state agencies and other organizations to deliver varied and innovative outreach, technical assistance, and training solutions for clients. Examples of these solutions include engagement with business, education, and workforce partners; online learning platforms and web-based training; technical assistance guides and tools; promising practices and peer learning; and in-person facilitation and training. Our projects focus on a range of topics, such as apprenticeship and work-based learning, sector strategies and career pathways, adult education and career and technical education, postsecondary education, and others.
Candidates hired for this position may work remotely within the U.S. or from any of AIR’s U.S. office locations.

Project Associates have a wide range of responsibilities that include:
- Conducting web research to identify and compile information on workforce development topics.
- Coordinating outreach and engagement with external project partners.
- Supporting virtual events, such as training webinars, peer learning exchanges, and conferences.
- Supporting production of technical assistance resources, such as training guides, toolkits, webpages, and fact sheets.
- Supporting team and partner meetings, including scheduling, developing materials, writing meeting minutes, and tracking action items.
- Developing and managing workplans for project activities.
- Helping manage project data and produce project reports.
- Developing expertise in subject matter areas relevant to project topics.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Education, Public Policy, Economics, Social Sciences, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of professional work experience OR Master's degree in
- Sociology, Psychology, Education, Public Policy, Economics, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Prior experience coordinating projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience effectively managing multiple activities to meet deadlines.
Skills:
- Ability to exercise strong attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Capability to produce consistent, high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to take initiative to develop solutions.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate technical material succinctly and accurately.
- Excellent people skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team, including the ability to be flexible to meet project priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with other technology platforms, such as SharePoint or Zoom, is a plus but not required.
