Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Management Procedures Training and Development Consultant (SME 2) opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

Work Location: 100% remote.
Work Schedule: 9/80’s or 5-8’s
Organization/Group: PM-PTD
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain “Q.”
Positions Available: 1

Education:
Master’s degree in engineering, Science or Business Management related to Project Management. Twelve (12 years) of directly applicable experience in specialized technical field and is acknowledged as an expert in the specific area in question.

Summary:
Provide Subject Matter Expertise to the Project Management Procedures Training and Development Organization.

Manages and directs the daily tasks required to perform ongoing support of design, construction, startup and/or operations/ maintenance activities of complex high technology systems or projects Renders expert opinions on engineering and technical issues, provides recommendations to project design and construction teams in specific areas of expertise. Provides independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise and provides guidance to project teams in delivering results on projects of complex, high- technology nature. Interfaces with management personnel and customer representatives. Develops and enforces work standards, assigns schedules, reviews work quality, communicates goals, objectives, and policies of the organization to subordinates. Provides leadership for the project team, coordinates with the functional organizations, and supervises senior personnel within the project organization.

Key position requirements include:
  • Develop Plan of Action and Milestone Documents for key initiatives
  • Provide expertise in meeting DOE O 413.3B requirements and ensuring requirements are flowed down in implementing policies and procedures.
  • Support ongoing evaluation of training and development activities, resources, programs, and priorities, and recommend strategic and tactical decisions to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Support development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans focused on continuous performance improvement.
  • Support development and implementation of informal and formal project management support needs assessments
  • Support development and implementation of policy, plans, processes, procedures, work instructions, and tools based on the results of the needs assessments.
  • Support workforce training and development by providing project management coaching and mentoring support that includes ongoing interactions, observing on-the-job experiences, and formal learning events.
  • Support the development and implementation of communities of practice for specific project management disciplines.
