With dservice GmbH, all supporting functions such as Controlling, Finance, Human Resources, Business Processes and IT, Consolidation, Marketing, and QHSES are consolidated in one entity.

Become a part of our Operations team at our location Erie, USA. For the next possible date we are looking for you in fulltime (40h/week) as Project Manager- Freight Forwarding.

The focus of this role is on the integral development of complex logistics projects, including opportunity identification, efficient bidding, and execution completion. It entails an equal combination of business development and project management covering the whole strategic process of entering and accomplishing project cargo logistics businesses.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Compliance with all TSA, DOT and Customs regulations (US and Foreign)
  • Accurate, efficient preparation of all required paperwork for delay-free forwarding.
  • Conduct freight negotiations with carriers, haulers, freight handlers, deugro overseas offices and agents for all Strong operations knowledge of project cargo, break bulk, out of gauge cargo, containerized shipments and inland transport.
  • Project scheduling & control tools to monitor project plans, budgets and expenditures.
  • Determine optimum logistics to manage and complete each project.
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team.
  • Execute project kickoff meetings to ensure all information is collected and all parties are connected on start dates and other important information.
  • Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements to ensure client’s needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Track any issues or required changes in projects to execute on commitments, manage change notices, notify the appropriate personnel and seek authorizations for meaningful changes that impact cost, timing or service delivery.
  • Control costs as estimated in signed agreements
  • Maintain up-to-date and accessible files on bids and projects
  • Select vendors and suppliers to help meet customer’s needs in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.
  • Communicate with Reps, Sales managers and the operations group to execute new business opportunities and solve customer problems.
  • Ensure clients shipping schedule and contract obligations are fulfilled
  • Bid Proposal
  • Expedite key account orders as needed
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients
  • Invoicing and billing
  • Informs customer of prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer
  • Responsive and comprehensive customer service via phone and email and text as needed including communication outside normal working hours, i.e. evenings and weekends.
  • Consistent excellence in Reliability, Professionalism and Teamwork.

Maintaining current knowledge of seasonal, political or other factors that could cause delay

  • IATA DG certification a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Adhere to all company policies in areas of Compliance, HSSE&Q, Code of Business
  • Conduct, Employee Handbook, etc.

What you can contribute:

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of Freight Forwarding experience preferred
  • Understanding of TACT and IATA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills – Verbal & Written.
  • Computer skills – MS Windows 7, MS Office.
