If so, the Alexa Shopping Design team is looking for a talented, passionate, Program Manager with a track record of delivery, ownership and process improvement that is excited to help us operationalize Research processes. You will help champion how we connect with customers around the world via our various research and beta testing programs.


A day in the life


We’re growing quickly and hiring the best; this is day one. This Program Manager will support Research Operations which includes managing and learning to strategically grow our research communities, vendor partnerships, and process optimization efforts. The role requires the need to be adept at both managing project pipelines and building mechanisms, connecting global stakeholders, understanding intricacies of data privacy, while also strategically planning means of scaling research capacity. In order to build these mechanisms, they will work across global internal partners and external vendor resources, leveraging both process and technology to achieve our goals. Your key job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Manage existing research communities including activity pipelines, panel health, recruitment, engagement, and operational compliance
  • Define, own, and manage self-service research and beta process workflows
  • Project manage operational initiatives by writing project plans, driving project schedules, and working with key stakeholders
  • Define streamlined processes upstream, drive best practices, and develop end-to-end workflows for global research alongside Designers, Product Managers, and local partners
  • Clearly communicate roadmaps, progress, risks and change control to internal cross-functional and remote project teams
  • Manage event projects end-to-end, working closely with agency PMs, internal business partners, external vendors, global stakeholders and varying teams within Amazon
  • Drive the writing, editing, review and maintenance of playbooks, guides, and process documentation
  • This role may be based Seattle or possibly virtually within the United States.


About the team


The Program Management team is embedded within Alexa Shopping Design, striving and focusing on connecting all business verticals within the org to our customers and raising their voice in the development process. The Program Management team establishes end-to-end workflows, mechanisms to enable new means of collecting customer feedback, manages vendors, and manages the research and beta activity pipeline. We set the standard for the research process, earning trust with all partners, biasing for action when working within tight parameters, and using sound judgment to make decisions in areas of ambiguity or uncharted territories. We partner with our product and design counterparts across the organization, and with wider Amazon teams, to enable the creation of bar-raising global research.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


  • 3+ years of experience as a producer, program manager or similar role with research agencies or Internet companies
  • A degree in business, program management or equivalent experience
  • Experience working closely with customer insights, research, or design teams
  • Demonstrated experience with in-house or third-party project management and/or ticketing systems
  • Strong problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a tight deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to work on different projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams while synthesizing feedback and input from product and design stakeholders
  • Experience building and managing research communities/panels and/or insight repositories. Experience with Alida is a plus.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Self-starter that can operate efficiently within ambiguous situations and complexity
  • Basic knowledge of research tools, e.g. UserTesting, DoveTail, Qualtrics, or similar
  • Demonstrated competency in cross-cultural communication and program building
