Proposal Manager

As Proposal Manager, you will lead both the proposal generation process and the proposal team. You will work in close collaboration with our marketing and business development professionals to create proposals and presentations that are responsive to our clients’ requests while also providing compelling narrative, graphics, and themes that convey why Ulliman Schutte is the premier provider of water quality infrastructure in the United States.

To be successful, our Proposal Manager must have a true passion for the role, recognizing that he or she is an integral part of Ulliman Schutte and our success. A desire to deliver the “perfect” proposal must be ingrained within your DNA, as must the desire to continually improve our systems for proposal generation, CRM, and proposal-based marketing collateral. You must tirelessly approach each challenge with vigor and vim, leading your team and peers through example and encouragement. To perform at this level, our Proposal manager must embody the following characteristics:

• 
  Brilliance. It all starts with raw brain-power.
• Ambition and Ambitiousness. Our Proposal Manager must be an exceptionally high-performer who is not only willing, but is eager to do whatever it takes to ensure our success
• Exceptionally strong writing and editing skills. This goes well beyond the “Oxford or no Oxford” debate (btw, it’s definitely a “yes” to the Oxford). Our PM must recognize and develop concise narrative where each sentence, paragraph, page, and document follows a logical structure that is informative, accessible, and compelling
• Leadership. Strong communication skills, empathy, and a desire and ability to foster the growth of other team members
• Organization. A love for creating and implementing systems that make our processes more efficient, accurate, and effective.

That said, the critical nature of this role necessitates that we are highly selective – if you are on the fence about whether this role is right for you, it probably isn’t.
