JOB DUTIES:
- Manufactures and fabricates new parts; modifies new and existing parts as needed.
- Analyses drawings, rough sketches, and/or verbal instructions to manufacture parts.
- Selects appropriate stock material and determines manufacturing sequences.
- Responsible for designing and creating work holding fixtures for each individual job.
- Sets up and operates various equipment types; water jet, surface grinder, vertical mill (CNC and Manual), lathe (CNC and Manual), heat treat oven, Wire EDM, etc.
- Verifies part accuracy based on required specifications using measurement instruments.
- Creates programs for complex parts to support machining, fabricating and rapid prototyping activities.
- Breakdown of duties: 70% Manufacturing / fabrication & 30% CAD/CAM.
- Support the daily needs for rapid printing activities.
- Candidate must be comfortable with a fast paced, rapid change environment and be able to multi-task across projects with good organizational skills.
- Responsible to provide guidance to other team members as needed.
- Responsible for shop floor and machine cleanliness.
- Performs basic preventive maintenance and other shop duties on request.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in Manufacturing OR Machining Technology; OR High School Diploma and 4+ years of relevant machining and/or fabrication experience.
- Experienced in 2D/3D machining methods and fabrication of metals, plastics, etc.
- Proficient operating multi axis vertical mills (CNC and manual) and lathes (CNC and manual)
- Preferred experience with water jet, surface grinding and EDM.
- Proficient with 3D CAM software (Mastercam and Esprit preferred).
- Knowledge of 3D CAD Software (Solidworks preferred).
- Sheet metal forming a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
