Purchasing Agent Job Summary

R. A. Townsend Company is a Michigan based, family owned distributor of plumbing, heating and air conditioning products. We've been in business for over 95 years and are passionately committed to providing world-class customer service. We are currently seeking to fill a full-time purchasing agent position in our Alpena, Michigan branch.

Purchasing Agent Responsibilities and Duties

You will be responsible for managing and executing daily replenishment of product for assigned suppliers and/or product groups. Your role will also involve evaluation of supplier performance, direct interaction with suppliers and managing inventory levels between our four branches.

Purchasing Agent Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with purchasing and distribution (preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• High level attention to detail
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
