Job description
The Georgia Department of Defense is seeking a Purchasing Assistant 3 to work at the 116th at Robins AFB in Warner Robins. The ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and high-demand environment and to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information is a must. The Purchasing Assistant 3 must also be able to maintain a professional and positive demeanor and to provide excellent customer service.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Prepares requisitions, purchase orders, and researches purchasing information in accordance with State of Georgia purchasing guidelines utilizing PeopleSoft.
- Processes and issues Purchase orders
- Utilizes IEMS (Integrated Engineering Management Software) to prepare and process purchase orders.
- Serves as technical source concerning pertinent purchasing/procurement rules, regulations, policies and/or processes.
- Assists in administering construction and professional services contracts.
- Conducts Quality Assurance inspections for Custodial Maintenance.
- Receives material and issues to appropriate personnel.
- Other duties as assigned
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications have:
- Professional experience in government procurement, especially with the state of Georgia.
- Experience using the PeopleSoft Financial Modules (current version)/ Team Georgia Marketplace.
- Basic Purchasing Certification.
- 2 years Purchasing Experience.
