About the position: A QA Lead is a proven software tester who has a solid understanding of our software testing methodologies and processes. The QA Lead is responsible and accountable for leading and mentoring the team and communicates project status to the client and project manager. The QA Lead should be able to help define and distribute daily tasks to our QA team and is therefore held more accountable for the quality of our work.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Understand and challenge project scope
- Show initiative, drive process, and assign tasks
- Follow the lead and guidance of QA Managers and act as management backup
- Proactively manage priorities and milestones for team and project
- Set the tone of quality for bug reports, test cases, and documentation
- Maintain professional communications between Shasta QA, client, and staff
- Report team’s status per defined milestones to client
- Proactively mentor, review, and audit efforts completed by fellow testers and engineers
- Actively participate in development of employees with oversight by manager
- Oversee training of new resources
- Teach and drive standard operating procedures
- Participate in facilitation of team meeting
- Assist in completion of project weekly status report, team metrics, and quarterly report
- Ensure project needs are met with IT

- Must gain a high level of understanding of the client’s product, SDLC, business model, and Shasta QA internal operations in order to make appropriate risk management decisions
- Is a product knowledge expert
- Understands technical intricacies of product
- Up to date on industry trends and tools
- Owns test management tool configurations
- Responsible for all build management
- Ensures tester or engineer work aligns with our methodologies and contract objectives
- Manages test plans - owns test coverage
- Investigates coverage gaps

Salary: $40k, depending on experience
All applicants are subject to a background check. Background checks will include, at a minimum, SSN verification, county criminal, federal criminal, sex offender registry, and government watch list. The background check must be completed before employment begins except when employment begins prior to the completion of the background check as a conditional offer. Once the background check is complete hiring authority and human resources will inform the conditional employee of hire based on the outcome of the background check. Shasta QA complies with California, Iowa, Louisiana, and Federal employment compliance laws.
