Highway Materials, Inc. is looking for a Quality Control Field Service Technician to join our team!
POSITION SUMMARY:
The quality technician will be responsible for testing the work product to ensure it meets the specifications of the project and/or penndot.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test aggregates, soil, concrete, asphalt, or other materials for quality control and/or analysis and resolving problems.
- Monitor and test materials daily to ensure our products meet or exceed the requirements of the appropriate agency or customer.
- Prepare and record accurate information and forward it to appropriate personnel promptly.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure equipment is in good working order.
- Travels to various work locations.
- Willing to days, nights, and weekends.
- Performs other related activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma (or equivalency) and prior relevant job experience.
- Driver’s license.
- Basic computer training.
- Must be able to read and use measuring devices.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong does not require problem-solving, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Frequently may require the ability to work more than 8 hours a day and/or more than 5 days a week.
- Frequent exposure to loud/noisy environment.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in a variety of weather conditions without protection from the elements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, kneel and crouch. Much of the work is performed around large moving equipment and one must be aware of the surroundings. Traveling required between two sites in Plymouth Meeting and Philadelphia, PA.
