Role Summary & Purpose

Reporting to the Quality Manager/JEM Leader, Quality Technician will be responsible for a range of quality assurance duties within Jeld Wen doors operations. Responsibilities include auditing incoming materials, monitoring assembly processes, records inspection of finished goods, and deploying root cause analysis through the A3 process and other lean manufacturing tools.

Key contacts for this role include:

· Internal –Group Leads and Group Managers.

· External – Production Manager, Material Manager, EHS Manager, Human Resources, Quality, JEM, Plant Manager, and other JELD-WEN plants.

Duties and Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

· Must promote safety culture within the plant and be involved in safety activities.

· Daily review of production records, quality records, and training records for accuracy.

· Performs quality audits for work in progress (WIP) and finished goods and assist in the development of quality assurance standards.

· Conduct routine tests (PIRs) for product specifications.

· Perform data entry and record keeping. Regular filing and document management.

· Verify dimensions of raw materials and finished goods for accuracy and conformance specifications using measuring instruments.

· Check products and packaging for basic quality defects, verify accuracy and completeness of data.

· Support production team to identify, contain, and correct quality issues in the production line.

· Inform management regarding non-conforming material(s), product(s) or processes.

· Performs other duties assigned by the Quality/C.I. Manager in an efficient and productive manner.

Job Requirements

· High school diploma or 3+ years of experience in quality and manufacturing processes.

· Must be attentive to details, good communication skills

· Knowledge using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to create quality documents and data entry.

· Knowledge using measuring tools as tape measures, calipers, and depth gauges.

· Willing to learn new tasks and be involved in continuous improvement activities and root cause analysis.

· Ability to work in manufacturing environment, standing, walking, carrying less than 50lbs objects, and using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

· Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

· Ability to follow and received instructions from Management.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
