Quality Control Technician
(NTN Driveshaft Anderson/Anderson, Indiana)

NTN, a world leader in constant velocity technology for the automotive industry, is currently seeking a qualified Quality Control Technician for our Anderson, Indiana operation. NTN Anderson manufactures Constant Velocity Joints (CVJs) for many of the major OEM automotive companies.


Position Summary:

Responsible for monitoring the quality of production as well as confirming product conformance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs Heat Treat quality inspection part preparation and checks as required.
  • Performs Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) as required.
  • Performs Turning inspection and makes gauge kits as required.
  • Performs paint testing checks as required.
  • Serves as liaison with Production department regarding quality issues on the line.
  • Places material on hold and coordinates containment of quality issues.
  • Completes troubleshooting and disposition of common quality defects.
  • Helps lead in-house sort activities.
  • Confirms communication of quality issues between shifts.
  • Monitors production and line conditions for quality.
  • Measures, monitors, and verifies sample trials.
  • Completes layout measurements and MSA studies for new parts.
  • Participates in training of new employees.
  • Maintain 5S and cleanliness of Quality labs.
  • Assists with gauge calibration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years relevant quality control experience preferred.
  • Experience with gauging instruments.
  • Experience using QC lab inspection equipment.
  • Good problem solving skills and use of statistics.
  • Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties while working under strict timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and communicate with internal and external parties.
  • Customer service and team oriented.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strict attention to safety.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or in a multi-cultural environment a plus.
