Duties & Responsibilities
- Effectively communicates with all levels of management and between departments to obtain scope of work for projects.
- Thoroughly investigates & defines the scope of work, cost and return on investment for each project. Monitor project cost, relative to established budgets.
- Support Engineering and Production departments to ensure successful transition of products from design to production
- Works with Plant Management to obtain labor and raw material savings justifications for projects.
- Generate specifications for any contact tooling needed for projects.
- Monitors and manages project costs with regard to the established budget.
- Assist Operations, Engineering and Maintenance personnel in solving problems with production.
- Obtain details of equipment requirements and prepare bid specifications for equipment needed for production and capital projects.
- Solicit, receive and analyze equipment proposals with regard to cost, delivery and adherence to specifications. Make recommendations for the placement of orders.
- Work with accounting and corporate engineering administrative assistant to monitor project costs and produce progress reports relating to each project.
- Standardize tooling and work to reduce setup times.
- Develop and write internal specifications, work instructions, supplier part specifications, and internal test methods.
- Will be trained as an internal auditor and perform quality audits.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in mechanical engineering preferred or related field required, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Experience in functional testing and writing test plans and cases.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills in Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Autodesk Inventor or equivalent.
- Must be familiar with ISO 9001 and API Q1 standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
