Job description
  • Assist the Quality Engineers with communication of Quality Concerns to all shifts of the production team. This includes but is not limited to ensuring that quality alerts are posted, training has been completed and operators and all production team members have a firm understanding of the intent and expectation of the alert.
  • Assist production personnel with the coordination of all sort activities including the gathering of data and communication back to the Quality Manager and all appropriate members of management.
  • Maintain organization of all non-production samples and nonconforming material.
  • Maintain all gauges for cleanliness and timely certification including the contracting of outside resources as needed.
  • Verify the availability and usefulness of visual aids and boundary samples/standards. Work with Quality Engineers to develop new samples where needed.
  • Perform internal audits and control plan audits as determined by the Internal Audit schedule.
  • Assist Quality Engineers by performing and coordinating the performance of Capability Studies and Gauge R&R’s
  • Assist the Quality Engineers in gathering data for internal trials and run at rates.
  • Oversee the activities of Quality Inspectors.
  • The Quality Technician will be required to maintain in-person contact with each shift quality inspector.
  • May be required to perform other functions at the direction of the Quality Manager, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Managing Partner

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • High school diploma/GED and Minimum of 1 year experience in Quality.
  • Able to read part drawings/GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of Gauge R&R’s and SPC methodologies.
  • People skills and the ability to relate to all levels of employees and management.
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and off shifts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and move objects up to 35 pounds. Must be able to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend and sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch office equipment and production environment such as gages & fixtures. Ability to travel between plant locations as required.
