Job Summary

We are looking for a Research and Development Engineer to test various product concepts.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in planning, executing, and monitoring experiments to test new concepts or refine existing products or processes
• Communicate with other departments such as marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and quality control to ensure that they understand the purpose of the project and can provide input or assistance if needed
• Develop new products that meet customer needs while considering costs, material requirements, and manufacturing processes
• Create detailed engineering plans for new products based on customer specifications or scientific research
• Analyze data to determine whether products meet customer expectations or legal standards
• Conduct research on new materials or design concepts, using computer modeling software or laboratory equipment such as wind tunnels or particle accelerators
• Test prototypes to determine how well they meet technical specifications
• Develop new technology or engineering processes for commercial use by creating computer models of new designs, performing calculations to ensure that structures will be structurally sound, and conducting tests to gauge performance

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in a testing/physical research capacity.
• Knowledgeable of excel spreadsheets
• Strong problem solving skills
• Proven ability to run tests
• Strong reporting skills
• Strong understanding of testing equipment

• May require bending and reaching in areas from floor level to six feet high.
• Must be able to walk & stand on feet for long periods of time 8-10 hours daily.
• Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and eye/hand coordination.
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is usually moderate to high.
