Job Title: Manager - Real Estate Portfolio Strategy

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Real Estate Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in helping our restaurant group make informed and intelligent decisions that will shape our real estate portfolio for years to come. Reporting to the Senior Director of Real Estate, you will be principally responsible for managing our landlord interactions, negotiating renewals, and using cutting-edge technology to analyze our portfolio.
FOCUS
Essential Functions
- Executes the company’s real estate portfolio strategy
- Researches, analyzes, and monitors the financial, technological, and demographic factors that may affect present and future needs for the company
- Real estate project planning, tracking, and reporting
- Manages weekly/monthly reporting and metrics
- Oversees and coordinates review and processing of Estoppels, SNDA’s and landlord notices
- Assists operations in assessment of maintenance and lease provisions
- Maintains corporate pipeline calendar
- Handles abstract leases and amendments for databases and different departments
- Works on cross-functional teams
- Provides guidance and support to different departments
- Develops systems and databases to manage, maintain, and analyze the portfolio

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
- Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 45-55 hours a week

- Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently through text, telephone, instant messaging, e-mail, and in-person communications
- Must be able to participate in and conduct presentations in front of an audience (virtual or in-person)
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required Experience and Skills
- Must represent The Potbelly Advantage and Our Values
- Experience in commercial real estate contracts
- Experience in lease analysis and abstracting
- Experience in project planning
- Experience in process improvement
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Strong cross-functional project management and organizational skills with proven problem-solving abilities
- Property management, lease administrator, or legal assistance experience is highly valued
- Data science experience and study is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field
- Candidates pursuing an MSRE or CCIM designation are highly favorable
Working Conditions
- Up to 20% travel required
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
