Position

The Receiving Clerk works to facilitate the flow of incoming and outbound materials and supplies in the Shipping/Receiving area. This key position also supports our Lean Manufacturing efforts by managing buffer inventory by effectively communicating inventory needs to the Production Supervisors.

Responsibilities

. Promote Safety as the Number 1 priority of all employees.

. Assist with management of delivery drivers, staging clerks and forklifts to ensure smooth transition of shipped/received materials.

. Maintain accurate records for all materials and supplies shipped from or received into this area.

. Ensure accurate receipt and delivery of UPS packages delivered to the staging area.

. Locate products into storage locations.

. Work to keep product moving through dock area and drop zones to keep them free from congestion.

. Provide assistance to internal customers needing help with receiving.

. Communicate with Production Supervisors to ensure that necessary levels are maintained through use of KanBan Card system.

. Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements

. High school diploma or equivalent.

. 3+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, warehousing or logistics preferred.

. 3+ years of experience operating a forklift.

. Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.

. High level of attention to detail and motivation.

. Able to identify issues and generate solutions, using feedback to modify plans.

. Strong PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
