Examples of Work
  • Answer multi line phone system, constituent services, direct callers appropriately to state agencies.
  • Greet and check in those attending meetings with Governor, welcome visitors, and tourists.
  • Process Mail – pick up, open, sort, date stamp, and distribute.
  • Enter Admiralship requests onto database.
  • Prepare Admiralship recognitions – Receive, process for approval and file requests, type, prepare for mailing or presentation.
  • File Agency Head travel requests for Chief of Staff.
  • Prepare letters, correspondence, awards, and recognition for Governor’s signature.
  • Order office supplies through Budget Office.
  • Schedule Hearing Room/Wherry Room events.
  • Prepare the Governor’s Hearing Room for events, rearranging furniture and making accommodations for use of the space.
  • Schedule Governor to attend parades, townhalls and other events upon request.
  • Administrative support of the Policy Research Office.
  • Coordinate food drive, charitable giving campaign and Open Enrollment for office. Distribute information for each event to staff.
  • Historically attend state of the state speech to assist and follow along with Governor’s backup speech.

Backup:
  • Serve as needed while administrative staff are on extended vacation/leave.
  • Distribute letters to Governor’s Policy Research Office or state agencies for response, data entry, scheduling Governor and/or Lt. Governor, processing Proclamation ceremony and letters.
  • Other duties as requested.
Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school with at least four years of administrative secretarial or general secretarial experience in a law or business office.

PREFERRED: College degree preferred.
