The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa is looking to hire a Recreation Manager to assist leading our Recreation team overseeing the daily activities for the guests.

SUMMARY: The Recreation Manager provides direct support to the Director of Recreation in the overall operations of the recreation department including overseeing the Recreation Attendants, The Cannon Team, Historian, Musician, and special events during the holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • The Recreation Manager is primarily responsible in overseeing the day-to-day operation of these areas including the holidays where we have a number of special events for our guests, and also assists the Director in strategic planning for the department.
  • The Recreation Manager is also responsible for the training of new staff and ongoing development for incumbent staff, scheduling and payroll of staff
  • Handling associate relations issues such as disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Oversee the operations outside by the pool and bay including watercraft activities, bike and kyak rentals, bonfire & smores, daily laginappe of the cannon fire, arts & crafts, and holiday festivities.
  • Attend daily stand ups.
  • Assit and collaborate with other departments regarding recreational activies for meetings, conferences, weddings, ect.
  • Assit the recruiting department by attending local highschool job fairs for seasonal recrutiment.
  • · Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels; effectively responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • · Attends pre- and post-convention meetings as needed to understand group needs and communicates critical information to the Recreation staff.
  • · Helps train associates in safety procedures and supervises their ability to execute departmental and hotel emergency procedures.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
