THE JOB
The Recruiter holds primary responsibility researching, developing, and implementing effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify high quality candidates to fill open positions across the organization.
  • Designs engaging job advertisements and marketing material for various job boards and social media platforms.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies to meet current and anticipated staffing needs.
  • Clearly articulate and promote The Arc of Opportunity employee value proposition via candidate interaction, networking events, professional networks etc.
  • Partner with the Development team to help drive the social media strategy to continually promote The Arc of Opportunity employment brand.
  • Actively track, manage, and report on candidate pipelines in the applicant tracking system.
  • Conducts initial screening and high-level assessment of a candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities to ensure candidates meet minimum job requirements, education requirements, and licensing requirements as appropriate.
  • Refers qualified candidates to the appropriate hiring manager and transitions those who are selected for hire into the onboarding process.
  • Build talent pipelines to fill current and future roles by leveraging user groups, blogs, job fairs, and networking events.
  • Source passive candidates through video interviews, direct channels, social media, internet sourcing, talent mapping, and relationship building from various diversity channels.
  • Maintain Applicant Tracking System to maximize applicant to hire ratios and updated job descriptions based on management feedback and funding requirements.
  • Recruits’ interns for various departments as needed and acts as main liaison for HR interns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively around strategies to identify quality talent.
  • Mathematical aptitude for budgetary, funding, cost/benefit analysis and general business.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • At least three years managing all phases of the recruitment process highly preferred.

Job Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting as a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time, kneel, bend, and carry items, sustain periods of walking and standing
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, OIG, CORI, SORI, and Fingerprint results are required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity
