Northwest Eye Clinic and Minnesota Retina Associates has a new opening for a full-time Referral Coordinator in our Patient Access department.
SUMMARY
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for the scheduling and registration of clinic appointments, providing a positive first impression of Northwest Eye and Minnesota Retina Associates and being knowledgeable in complex scheduling scenarios and insurance plans. This includes answering calls quickly, entering demographic information, scheduling, providing appointment instructions to patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtain and enter accurate patient demographics, including insurance information into EHR
- Schedule and reschedule of clinic appointments accurately as needed
- Complete patient registration via phone at the time of scheduling
- Maintain referral for consultation requests and contact patients back in a timely manner to schedule the requested appointments
- Monitor 2nd and 3rd call referral contacts
- Receive and complete all tasks sent through the Electronic Health Records
- Monitor Vital Interactions reminder calls and coordinate recalls
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school education with one-two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with a high focus on customer service, insurance plans, and medical background. Ophthalmology experience a plus.

Location and Schedule Details:
This position is full time (40 hours per week) and is located in our Golden Valley Northwest Eye Administration office.
