POSITION TITLE: RN – Telephone Triage Nurse (Onsite)
PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Central Nursing
CLASSIF.: Full Time (evenings 3p - 11p)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Nursing Support Manager

POSITION SUMMARY*:
Ensures appropriate medical care is provided to individuals we support by working cooperatively with fellow RN’s to perform skilled nursing duties; provides direction and assistance to direct support professionals; provides clinical oversight to med certified staff in medication administration; communicates and enforces medical policies and procedures.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS*:

Current New York State Registered Nurse license is required.
At least one-year nursing experience is strongly preferred.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transpiration is required.
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or mental health concerns is preferred.
Special Skills and Abilities
Ability to demonstrate a high level of empathy and sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of the people we support
Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, 1-on-1 and on the telephone
Ability to be flexible, work non-traditional hours, and be responsive to on-call demands
Ability and willingness to provide effective instruction and demonstration to staff
