Rehab Office Coordinator


Job Summary:
Responsible for day-to-day operations of the rehabilitation department. Coordinates and supervises operation and duties of administrative and clerical staff.

Job Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Good physical and mental health Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment. Visual and auditory acuity. A knowledge of vocabulary and grammar is necessary. Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs., and be able to carry objects. Must be able to push and pull, and continuously walk, sit and stand. Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate. Must use good body mechanics. Should be neat and well groomed. Must be able to type and take manual shorthand or be able to transcribe from a dictation machine. Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided.

  • Familiarity with medical billing systems, medical coding, and basic medical terminology.
  • Understand and be competent to perform needed tasks within EMR.
  • Complete training in HIPAA, medical coding, blood borne pathogens, COR and emergency procedures, and other clinical/administrative issues.
  • Superior customer service skills to handle escalated issues.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate new and current staff on office procedures and policies.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Assure office is open and appropriately staffed during regularly scheduled hours and
  • special events and that all facilities and equipment are available, operational, safe and clean.
  • Select, train, supervise and monitor quality and production levels of site staff.
  • Communicate need for new rehab staff as needed from time to time.
  • Develop daily staff schedule, review time cards, and provide input to payroll calculation.
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Resolve payer source corrections within rehab originating at the site.
  • Interact with residents and families and address service issues.
  • Inspect and maintain records on facilities and equipment.
  • Schedule patients for new and ongoing treatments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
