Job Summary
The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and revising job descriptions under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Hours: Flexible
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Responsibilities and Duties
- Writes and edits job descriptions
- Meets with project managers to learn about specific programs and job duties
- Researches jobs to fully understand scope of responsibilities
- Assesses the audience needs for whom the job description is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding
- Plans writing processes and sets timelines and deadlines
- Creates or works with graphic designers to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process
- Gathers feedback from stakeholders to improve technical documents.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be highly proficient with computers, systems, and other related technology
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or Google Workspace
- Self motivated and willing to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent writing and grammatical skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical, judgement, problem-solving skills
- Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues
- Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations a plus
- Experience with Paycom and/or Jazz a plus
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 1 year of technical writing experience required
- 1 year of writing job descriptions preferred

- Must have the ability to work remote including the usage of personal computer etc.
