Sunvapor has developed solar steam, energy storage, and desalination technologies with several awards from the US Department of Energy. Based in Pasadena, CA, Sunvapor designed, built, and operates the country’s only industrial solar boiler. Sunvapor was awarded a prestigious Solar Desalination Prize in 2021 from the US Department of Energy for its patented hybrid membrane process.

Key responsibilities:

 Design, simulation, and field testing of physical systems for decarbonization and desalination

 Help build innovative systems that make a positive, near-term impact on climate change

Desired experience & qualifications:

 Strong theoretical understanding of mechanics and thermal sciences

 Proven experimental abilities

 Proven analytical abilities

 Hands-on mechanical proficiency

 Experience with mechanical or thermal equipment

 Desire to work outdoors at project sites

Education:

 Ph. D. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
