POSITION SUMMARY:
The main purpose of this position is to work as a trainee, developing the skills needed to work on various models of multi-line telephone sets. This position encompasses all of the tasks necessary to take a telephone part from a raw untested warehouse and process it to the point where it can be classifies as RFI (Ready-For-Issue).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employee should work to attain 100% productivity as measured using the Telset Production Metrics Report
- Concentrate on quality and have 1 or less rejects during weekly quality audits.
- Perform their job in a cost efficient manner, providing quantifiable examples of doing so.
- Performing routine testing, light repair, general maintenance cleaning, teardown and buildup of telephones and telephone accessories under the guidance of a more experienced technician.
- Packing Telsets prior to moving them on to the distribution center for stocking or shipment on a Sales Order.
- Keying parts to and from the appropriate areas using the Carousel Industries serial bar coding program.
- Performing any and all other tasks as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Proficient in the repair and testing of telephone sets.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Must have ability to see and/or have corrective vision
- Must have use of hands and be coordinated to use hand tools
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to four years of relevant experience.
- Time management – strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
- Flexibility – ability to effectively adapt to change
- Strong customer service orientation
- PC experience preferred
- Good typing skills preferred
- Required to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience in ESD preferred
