The Point Reyes Light, Marin County's Pulitzer Prize-winning weekly, is searching for an intrepid reporter to lead coverage in our small newsroom. We are a family-owned and family-operated print newspaper with a devoted and growing readership. Our stories arise from a dozen villages clustered around Tomales Bay, Point Reyes and numerous federal parks and marine sanctuaries. Reporters must be versatile, able to write about science and the environment, agriculture and development, education and law. Our two-person news staff shares the responsibility of covering local government and school board meetings, crafting feature-length obituaries and profiles, and keeping our readers up to date on village life in coastal Marin. Our weekly cycle gives reporters time to go in depth and develop sensitivity, writing skills and relationships with sources.

Reporters must be able to write two longer stories a week and a couple of shorter pieces, totaling around 3,000 words a week. They are capable, accurate, quick to turn around drafts, and committed to our all-hands-on-deck operation. Reporters contribute to weekly newspaper deliveries and proofreading. We will help you find housing in West Marin.
