Position: Reporting Specialist

Salary Range: $47,549 – $70,589

Primary Purpose of Position: The primary purpose of the Reporting Specialist is to ensure any required Medicaid, local, state, or federal reports are completed timely and accurately. Responsible for financial reporting and a variety of professional accounting work. This position requires understanding of GAAP, and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Provides management and stakeholders with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial reports. Responsible for developing and implementing new procedures for required reporting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare required monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare financial reporting; identify issues and investigate root cause for resolution.
  • Design and implement procedures for new reporting requirements.
  • Determine opportunities to streamline reporting processes.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and audit.
  • Assists with the monthly MCO report submitted to the Department of Behavioral Health (DBH).
  • Manages special projects and other duties as required in accordance with agency growth and change.
  • Assists as backup to other Finance department staff in payroll, procurement and accounts payable.

Education/Experience: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting, business administration, or other curriculum that would provide a core curriculum in financial management coursework and a minimum of one year of experience in a managed care environment performing Medicaid and state reporting.

Additional Training Preferred: Experience: Minimum of 3 years progressively more responsible health care administration experience (finance/contract administration /physician and/or provider relations) with strong preference for managed care experience. Work experience which demonstrates broad-scope financial expertise, with financial modeling experience. Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Systems: Word and Excel. Experience working in public sector financial management, familiar with NC G.S. 159, NC G.S. 122c is a plus.

Working Conditions: This is a semi remote position which occurs primarily during normal working hours. May require travel throughout the catchment area and to various locations throughout the state.
