Primary Responsibilities

HDR currently has an exceptional opportunity for a Resident Project Rep 1 to join our Construction Services Group in Washington.

The primary duties are to technically and administratively represent a project owner throughout construction on a variety of public infrastructure projects.

In the role of Resident Project Representative 1, we'll count on you to:
  • Work under general supervision of a more-senior Resident Project Representative or Design Project Manager
  • Write and issue field orders, initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate cost of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Project Manager
  • Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This position requires onsite client visits. The client requires all contractors/consultants/vendors who work or visit the site be fully vaccinated for COVID-19

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT or PE
  • Previous construction experience with a consulting firm
  • L1-CA1

The expected compensation range for this position is $69,069 to $98,670 depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
