Various full time, part time and per diem positions available at our Children’s Programs in Hampton, NJ (Hunterdon County) and Parsippany Troy Hills, NJ (Morris County):
1. Hampton, New Jersey (Hunterdon County) --
Pay Rate: $17.55 increasing to $18.05 after 3-months of employment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, or a relevant social services field
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license with 5 or less points
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift and transfer at least 50 pounds
- The ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, and physically pursue clients on foot for several hours at a time
2. Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey (Morris County) --
Pay Rate: $16.55 increasing to $17.05 after 3-months of employment
Requirements:
- High school diploma with three or more years experience working with children with I/DD in a behavioral health setting; or Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work or a relevant social service field, preferably with one-year experience working with youth with I/DD in a behavioral health setting
- Valid unrestricted driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to lift and transfer at least 50 pounds
- The ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, and physically pursue clients on foot for several hours at a time
- Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English and direct/respond to client’s needs
- At least 21 years of age or older
- Basic computer Literacy
About the Job
As a Residential Counselor, you will support and rehabilitate youth with co-occurring diagnoses within a community-based residential setting. You will plan and implement the treatment team’s interventions designed to assist youth in building skills needed to move to a less restrictive level of care and live as independently as possible.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, including dressing, bathing, and toileting
- Administer medication and ensure doctor’s orders are implemented
- Transport individuals (in agency vehicles) and provide support for activities and outings
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
- Support individuals in their personal growth and in reaching their goals
- Complete daily logs and written reports in electronic records system
***If offered a position, you will be required to attend up to five (5) full days of paid mandatory training located at our Headquarters Office in Hamilton, New Jersey.
