Job description
We're seeking an experienced Restoration Technician to assist with cleaning and repairing homes effected by disasters such as flood, or mold. Must be willing to assist in moving furniture, crawling through attics and basements, using a variety of cleaning chemicals and performing light construction work alongside other technicians. Applicants should have at least one year of experience in the field and a reliable transportation means to get them to homes throughout the city during a time of need.
Responsibilities:
- Move furniture or large appliances from a designated area to another, using appropriate equipment.
- Perform waterproofing and basement wall repair.
- Apply coatings and other waterproofing materials to walls, decks, floorboards, and other structures.
- Use equipment such as carpentry tools (e.g. saws), power tools (e.g. sander, drill), hand tools (e.g. level), flashlights, ladders; do extensive repetitive work with hands and feet.
- Work at heights; repair roofs, ceilings, walls and floors; Tasks require climbing on ladders, stilts and scaffolding at heights up to 6 feet.
- Work with various materials, e.g., wood paint and finish, mortar.
- Respond to service calls as needed
- Perform services as assigned, following DRC protocols
- Communicate with the Project Manager to make sure all customer needs are met
- Support Project Manager and other production personnel, as needed
- Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and office areas, as needed
- Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, uniform and clean equipment appearance
- Prepare rooms/areas for work activities
- Set up staging area and equipment for each project
- Perform production processes following DRC protocols per work order per Project Managers directions
- Ensure clear two-way communication with Project Manager and other technicians (especially regarding customer needs and concerns)
- Perform end-of-day/end-of-job cleanup and breakdown to leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance
- Understand and follow safety and risk management guidelines on the job site, in the office, and while traveling
- Walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, climbing
Qualifications:
- Exactimate experience
- 1 year experience required - 2 years experience preferred
- Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law
- Effective oral communication
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights
- Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., crawls spaces under buildings)
- Ability to travel locally
- High school diploma/GED
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
