Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome and Museum is a non-profit aviation museum in Red Hook, NY. We are unlike any place you have ever worked! People from all over the world visit the Aerodrome to watch our shows, go for biplane rides and experience the golden age of aviation.

The Retail and Merchandising Lead will be the head of our two on-site gift shops as well as our online store.

• Merchandising & Inventory: Our Retail & Merchandising Leader plays an integral role in helping our visitors find the perfect gift, souvenier or memorabilia. Areas of accountability will include ordering, stocking and displaying merchandise for our separate shops on site, optimizing retail displays to promote sales, and overseeing fulfillment of our online orders.
• Associate Leadership: You’ll lead a team of Gift Shop Associates to maintain a fully stocked and clean environment for our visitors. You’ll also provide them with the guidance and development to be successful in our retail environment.
• Overall Retail Initiatives: Creating an exceptional customer experience is a top priority. From ensuring our associates have extensive knowledge of our offerings to building connections with visitors, our leaders ensure an enjoyable and professional environment in our shops.
• Other Responsibilities/Needs
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
• Learn and adapt to current technology needs
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
• Attention to detail and follow a multi-step processes
• Accurately handle cash register operations
• Handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds

Qualifications:

• Previous retail and sales experience, preferably in a leadership position
• Ability to manage store budget, maintain inventory
• Weekends are required, regular attendance necessary
• Ability to work both independently and with a team

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Weekend availability

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Retail management: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
