Smiths Interconnect has a current opening for a RF Component Design Engineer to join our team in Florida. This individual will Lead the design and development of new RF Board Level Components for our Resistors, attenuators, temperature variable attenuators, gain slope equalizers and power dividers product line. This would be a Hybrid role, and we prefer the individual live in Florida.
- Utilize Thermal, EM and FEA simulation software in support of new product development.
- Translate customer specifications into design, manufacturing, quality, and testing requirements.
- Use Electrical, RF and thermal test equipment in support of design validation.
- Prepare technical proposals, and presentations as required to support customers, sales representatives and lead design reviews
- Interface with suppliers to evaluate component specification and new materials
- Support cross functional design reviews including requirements definition, manufacturability assessments, and application of GD&T.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and quality engineers to facilitate initial build and prototyping of products developed by regional project teams
- Proactively identify project risks and mitigation plans to accelerate the development cycle and ensure delivery commitments are met
- Participate in the development of product and technology roadmaps, in support of cross-functional stakeholders
- Provide technical support to organizational stakeholders including Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing and Sales

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant work experience in RF & Microwave Industry.
- Proficiency in 3D electromagnetic (EM) simulation and linear circuit analysis
- Proficiency in key RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers
- Proficiency with CAD including 3D solid modeling. AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred
- Knowledge of thin and/or thick film process technology a plus.
- Familiarity with military and industry standards and other relevant specifications
- Able to clearly communicate and discuss technical concepts in English and Spanish is a plus.
