Job description
Under general supervision, risk knowledge and skills obtained through education, training, and experience are used to support risk management initiatives. Guidance is provided to perform somewhat difficult work in character, requiring some evaluation, originality, and ingenuity to make routine decisions. Regular contact with customers and other external entities is required to identify, research and resolve problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs data collection and analysis in support of risk management project activities.
- Develops spreadsheets and reports which summarize risk exposure.
- Identifies, reviews, assesses and documents risk management and control issues in assigned business processes.
- Collaborates with various business units across the firm to develop controls and strategies which address risk.
- Assists with the preparation of risk mitigation plans for strengthening the effectiveness of controls in assigned business processes.
- Benchmarks industry best practices and maintains currency in risk management processes and procedures.
- Assists with the development and execution of key operational risk management activities, including: evaluation, reporting, and root-cause analysis of internal loss events; analysis of loss events that have occurred at other firms to evaluate internal preparedness if similar events were to occur at Raymond James; capture, evaluation, and reporting of key risks, mitigation strategies, and risk metrics across the enterprise; facilitation and evaluation of risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) completed by core business lines.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures for risk management (including Operational Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Management).
- Financial markets and products.
Skill in:
- Conducting and documenting risk assessments.
- Understanding and documenting business process workflow and control points.
- Identifying, documenting, and evaluating risks and controls relating to operations, financial reporting, and compliance processes and objectives
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications.
Ability to:
- Partner with others to accomplish objectives.
- Attend to detail while maintaining a big-picture orientation.
- Interpret and apply policies.
- Manage multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with constant interruptions.
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in a related field.
