$66,000.00-$75,000.00 /Annually + Excellent Benefits
POSITION TYPE: FULL-TIME MONDAY-FRIDAY
THE POSITION
The Safety Manager ensures each construction project is conducting operations in a safe manner for the protection of our employees, clients, subcontractors and the public. The Safety Manager will strategize and implement Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) policies and programs for the company and maintain overall company safety and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform risk assessment.
- Instruct and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
- Trains staff as to proper safety procedures and regulations, implementing preventive measures.
- Conducts performance evaluations of assigned staff; establishes performance requirements and personal development targets for assigned staff; regularly monitors performance and provides coaching for performance improvement and development.
- Participates in developing, implementing and evaluating plans, work processes, policies, systems and procedures to achieve the division's annual goals, objectives and work standards.
- Develops, reviews, and updates written Illness Preventions manuals, procedures and instructions.
- Develop a central monitoring system to keep track of employee training, required licenses, and certifications.
- Will train and maintain compliance with OSHA.
- Administer and facilitate investigations of employee accidents, injuries and damages.
- Maintain Workers Compensation function for company, including but not limited to:
Respond to Worker's Compensation claims examiner's inquiries about specific worker's compensation claims, contact injured workers to monitor their recovery and answer questions about worker's compensation, Initiate request for light duty approval through insurance carrier and follow up on work restrictions with the clinic.
- Maintain safety incident files on each employee as required by OSHA.
- Partners with Human Resources to ensure firm, fair and consistent application of practices/policies and labor agreements in a timely manner.
Interpersonal Skills
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Working knowledge of OSHA Standards, and DOT Requirements
- 25 years of age or older due to vehicle insurance regulations
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish is required.
- Good verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels, including yard, counter, drivers, managers, senior management, customers, business partners and the general public.
- Capable of maintaining professional and positive customer service approach and attitude at all times, even in stressful situations
- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment
- Ability to function independently and collaboratively as part of a team with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
- Ability to work, teach, mentor and motivate others expressing ideas effectively with a broad spectrum of individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work and maintain privacy with sensitive interpersonal and business matters.
- Can take initiatives to improve the safety department.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing MS Office Suite, and project management software.
Additional information
- Company vehicle, Fuel card and phone will be provided.
- Some travel to Santa Barbra County will be required

Pay: $66,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
