Sales Manager Job - International Freight Forwarding - Miami, FLBase Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 + commissions + company car + benefits
In my client's International division, the Sales Manager is responsible for all sales activities with existing and potential clients and with network clients who have relationships with our company internationally. You will be responsible for managing accounts of middle-to-large size assigned to a specific industry or territory. In addition to meeting retention targets, increasing business, initiating tenders, and securing new accounts based on the sales strategy of the various modes of service, we must also expand our existing book of business and initiate new tenders.
A key requirement of this position is collaborating with operation staff members and other sales staff members to provide prompt follow up and a plan of action for resolving any service issues that arise. Additionally, the Sales Manager will assist upper management, operations, and sales by preparing proposals, presentations, and implementing new business opportunities. This position will also be responsible for supporting and coaching sales members based on his/her sales experience and knowledge of the industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaboration with organizations worldwide to identify and qualify new business opportunities. Conduct market research, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities. This will include customer visits & developing relationships within the defined geographical area, industry, or market.
Inspire market share within assigned territory or client and meet assigned financial goals for volume, revenue, and profit.
Create a proposal, recommend enhancements, services, extensions, or enhancements, and overcome objections to obtain sales leads from other international branches. In addition, you will forward them to other international and domestic offices. You will participate in periodic tenders within an assigned client, territory, industry or market.
Successfully closed some businesses and signed up some new clients.
Expected to meet Sales Targets assigned by management.
Support and give coaching to other sales members to develop and grow business
Maintain and develop existing accounts:
Increase market share within existing middle~large size customer base.
Maintain contact with all clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction. Resolve sales or delivery issues. Engage in troubleshooting with members of the operation.
Work with customers on service proposals, rate quotations, air/ocean transportation schedules for possible destinations. Manage ad hoc pricing requests.
Recommend and offer solutions for customer needs regarding regulations, methods of loading, crating, handling freight and special equipment availability. Provide a complete understanding of such requirements and service offerings.
Manage the renewal of business contracts and review & update profitability.
Develop and maintain customer relationships and expand the business by supporting and coaching the member team.
Coordinate and liaise with branch operations and customers
Ensure the highest level of service by collaborating with branch operations in identifying and resolving problems and leveraging industry expertise and account management experience.
May coordinate shipments with shippers, operations, truckers and carriers, on behalf of the Customers.
Coordinate with the credit department to establish lines of credit for new accounts and negotiate letters of credit.
Provide reports on rates, use of carriers, major operational problems.
May assist, communicate and follow-up with other U.S. and foreign offices regarding targeted or joint customers.
Ensure that you establish and maintain effective communication with all branch operations departments.
Participates and contributes to the development of educational programs offered to clients.
Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.
Participate in local business activities and events to gain networking opportunities and to expose the local market to the Client's brand and value proposition.
Sales Management:
In consultation with Regional Sales Manager, VP, Director, or upper management, achieve annual target volume, and P&L for regional/branch sales for assigned accounts or territory or industries.
Develop standard operating procedures for major accounts.
Attend joint calls with upper management or the other sales staff, and join region/branch sales meetings; collaborate in multi-region/branch sales efforts.
Sales Reports are required to submit.
Education and Experience:
Communication and interpersonal skills (written & oral). It is essential to be able to effectively articulate views both internally and externally.
Having demonstrated client prospecting and relationship management/growth skills and abilities is an essential component of this role
Ability to develop strategies and tactics to meet existing and new clients' needs and provide customized solutions.
Strong relationship builder and communicator
Highly organized and results-oriented
Demonstrated ability and flexibility in adapting to a constantly changing environment.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Bi-lingual Language (English and Spanish)
