As a School Based Clinician you are responsible for the coordination and delivery of clinical services in a school setting within our Private school in Glenmoore, Pa.
Day to Day Responsibilies:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students based on referral from school district staff.
- Provide Training and information sessions for parents and other stakeholders on mental health awareness and risk factors
- Assists with crisis intervention/prevention services.
- Develops strong working relationships with schools through respectful communication and accountability. Provides consultation and training to school staff on mental health awareness and risk factors. Make recommendations for initiatives around school based mental health and prevention strategies.
Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or other related Human Services discipline. LSW, LCSW, LPC preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Must have completed a practicum
HOURS: 8A-4P, follows school calendar with summers and school breaks off
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: *Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) techniques.*
