Brighton Solutions is seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master who can lead scrum teams and is passionate about working on various software projects. This will be an opportunity for someone to join an established, but growing technology team, to make an impact for themselves and the overall organization. Ideally, we are seeking candidates within 100 miles of Chicago to be able to visit the office periodically. As a scrum master, you will be monitoring scrum processes and procedures, following proven scrum methodologies, resolving project challenges with key stakeholders across the organization and you will be leading scrum meetings.

Broadly speaking, this role will be handling duties that may include:
  • Scrums! Following the Agile values and principles, the ScrumMaster is responsible for sharing knowledge, guiding the teams and following the Scrum Framework.
  • Handling iteration planning, reviews, demos and retrospectives
  • Anticipates, resolves and escalates risks or issues to appropriate level of management for timely resolution to support earlier, incremental delivery of value.
  • Acts as front-line contact with the Product Owner, Dev Lead (Development Manager or BSM), and Project Manager on team and/or project related issues, responding to concerns with clear and concise feedback.
  • Collaborates with Product Owner and Technical Leaders to maintain a groomed, prioritized backlog is in place, taking sequencing, scope, and risk management into consideration.

Ideally, we are looking for the following Education & Experience:

  • ScrumMaster certification (CSM, CSPO, PMI-ACP or PSM I) preferred
  • Professional Development experience applying Agile Scrum principles and best practices
  • Experience playing the ScrumMaster role for a distributed software development team
  • Experienced with story mapping, story sketching, decomposing work, estimating techniques
  • Experience with scope control and change management processes, policies, and principles.
  • Experience with Agile management tools (i.e., Jira, Asana, VersionOne, Pivotal Tracker)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
