Job Summary
Drexel University is seeking temporary Seasonal Application Readers for the 2022-2023 application review season. Seasonal readers will be trained to assist the full-time admission team with the evaluation of first-year applications, including academic credentials, standardized testing, personal essays, recommendation letters, extracurricular credentials, and other supplemental materials. Readers must be able to grasp material quickly, read carefully, and consider applications thoughtfully and objectively, while providing thorough summaries. Seasonal readers should be prepared to work no less than 20 hours per week and can develop their own work schedules which can include evening and weekend hours should you have weekday responsibilities. Successful candidates will work remotely with no need to report to campus. All successful candidates must attend training sessions prior to the start of application reading.
Essential Functions
Evaluate first-year applications, including academic credentials, standardized testing, personal essays, recommendation letters, extracurricular credentials, and other supplemental materials.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Own a recent computer (preferably fewer than 5 years old) with a reliable, high-speed internet connection, and access to a private, secure location in which to work.
- Maintain University policies in keeping confidentiality of personal information associated with applicants
- Comfortable with using computer programs and Zoom.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work at least 20 hours a week.
- Willing to create their own work schedule which can include nights and weekends as opposed to weekday work hours.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills.
