Secretary for Guidance Office at Woonsocket High School12 Month Position (Year Round)Salary in accordance with Local 1137 collective bargaining agreementFunction: The secretary is responsible directly to the Guidance Office for providing secretarial services and performing a wide variety of office duties as required. Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the efficient operation of the Guidance Office2. Capable of developing and implementing a system for organizing and maintaining office records digitally and in hard copy when needed.3.

Assists in maintaining and preserving all public records and supporting files of the school.4. Responsible for composing and typing letters, memorandums, reports, and any other communications as assigned.5. Obtains pertinent data, as needed, and creates usable documents that will enable the Administration and Guidance Team Leader to make efficient and effective data-based decisions. 6.

Serves as a receptionist dealing effectively and courteously with administrators, teachers, students, parents, and the general public.7. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Google products.8. Ability to master Skyward for daily school operations.9. Knowledge of and ability to master Skyward for archival school operation, for example student permanent records as well as transcripts.

10. Responsible for processing, updating, and maintaining biographical data and class schedules of all students using Skyward.11. Maintains schedule of appointments and makes arrangements for students to meet college representatives at the High School. 12.

Maintains confidentiality of all work performed and is discrete and professional at all times. 13. Assist administration with student awards and scholarships. Organizes awards night.14.

Assist administration with graduation materials and exercises.15. Responsible for registering new students, obtaining appropriate records, and withdrawing students that are exiting school. 16. Assumes other duties as may be assigned by the Administration and Guidance Team Leader.17.

Reliable and consistent attendance for eight hours daily, Monday through Friday, 12 months. Evaluation: Successful candidates performance on this job will be evaluated for the first ninety (90) working days in accordance with the provisions of the School Committee Policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel. Upon completion of the probationary period of ninety (90) working days, annual evaluations will be conducted. Current employees will be granted a 30-day trial period as per the Local 1137 collective bargaining agreement.
