Position Summary
The Security Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for employees and visitors of the Home Office. The
Security Coordinator is actively involved in overseeing the compliance of Costco’s security policies and procedures.
Additionally, this person will operate a shuttle bus providing transport for employees and visitors around the Home Office campus. The Security department is staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
● Loss Prevention efforts for both Security / Safety at the Corporate Offices
● Provides exceptional customer service
● Operates and assists with scheduling of maintenance for shuttle bus
● Serves as staff support to security management and assists in conducting investigations
Non-Essential Functions
● Assists in other areas of the department as necessary
● Assists in other areas of the company as necessary
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
● 13 passenger shuttle bus, Phones, Sonim Radios, Fire Lite, Edwards and Silent Knight Fire Panels, Electric Pallet Jack,
Badge Access systems, Computer, Power Tools and Fire Panels
Experience, skills, education & licenses/certifications
- Required:
● Ability to work various shifts which will include graveyards, weekends and holidays● Must be able to move and/or lift pallets, packages, ladders, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally● Must have a valid Washington Driver’s license and have an excellent driving record● Proficiency with a variety of communications equipment, security alarms and fire panels● Prior experience operating a personal computer, tablet, and standard office equipment● Have an excellent safety record● Demonstrates the ability to work well under pressure in a stressful and deadline driven environment● Past reviews indicate excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to employees at all levels● Proven ability to analyze information and draw logical conclusions● Past reviews indicate the ability to rapidly prioritize a variety of tasks and take appropriate action● Demonstrates a strong desire to be part of a successful team● Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision● Past reviews indicate a willingness to perform other duties as requiredRecommended:
● High School Diploma or GED preferred.
● Previous security experience helpful
● Strong computer skills including Google Email, documents and spreadsheets
● Trained or willingness to be trained in first responder skills (first aid, triage, CPR, etc.)
