What to Expect
Security Intelligence Analysts are responsible for the protection of Tesla's intellectual property, reputation, trade secrets, and confidential information. This role will support proactive and reactive risk management projects, conduct limited technical signal review, and actively address internal and external threats to Tesla's intellectual property.
What You’ll Do
  • IP Protection - Support programs designed to reduce IP loss risk to Tesla crown jewel programs and unannounced projects
  • Training and Awareness - Support ongoing training and awareness efforts, emphasizing information security/IP protection best practices
  • Enhanced background reviews - Support review of candidates for high-impact roles across the company to assess risk of IP theft
  • Proactive alert review - Review technical signal to detect possible IP loss.
  • Support proactive and reactive investigations into IP loss

General Responsibilities

  • Partner with key stakeholders across the company to identify risks to sensitive IP and collaborate with cross functional partners to mitigate those risks.
  • Support sensitive, complex, and confidential investigations into incidents of data loss and intellectual property theft, technology misuse, and conflict of interest.
  • Collaborate with technical forensic and human investigations to mitigate risks and/or vectors of IP loss identified during investigations.
  • Partner with Legal and Human Resources and other investigative/analysis functions across the company to optimize IP risk reduction and investigations.
  • Review alerting from a variety of sources, assess potential impact to the business, and support investigation as required.
  • Solve complex problems with data from multiple sources and make recommendations to leadership on the appropriate strategy.
  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the company, including at executive level.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree required; engineering degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an investigator/analyst within the intelligence community or law enforcement, and/or graduate level education in an academic program related to privacy, cybersecurity, information security, or risk management.
  • The ability to build and leverage productive professional relationships across organizations, internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with Insider Threat/Risk concepts/programs, willing to learn same.
  • Proven track record managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and focusing on critical priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated success in cross functional collaboration and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity; the ability to change focus quickly due to shifting corporate priorities
  • Demonstrated experience of communication at executive level within a global environment.
  • Works well in a team environment, where team members are dispersed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Excel; experience with MISP, Navigator, Splunk or XSOAR a plus.
  • The highest level of integrity and honesty and the ability to protect sensitive confidential information.
