The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library System seeks a person to ensure the security of customers, staff, materials and equipment. All of our five buildings are active community gathering places and require someone with a positive attitude and a team spirit. Security staff patrol the library building and grounds, maintaining the security and safety of staff, customers, materials and equipment. They may also assist with minor custodial duties as needed.

The schedule for this position is:

• Monday through Thursday 1-5 pm or 2 – 6 pm
• Sunday 1 – 5 pm

High School diploma or equivalent combination of similar work experience and training. Two years of experience preferred. OPATA and/or Safety Certification desirable. Excellent communication skills and ability to use office technology such as email and other library specific software applications. Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with leadership, peers and customers.

Successful applicant must treat all people with respect and be able to stand for extended periods. Must enjoy working with teens, children, and adults.

Benefits

Salary range starts at $15.75 per hour pay or equitable within our range for skills, experience and abilities. The Library offers vacation, sick leave benefits, ten paid holidays, paid parental leave, and Ohio Public Employees Retirement. Library picks-up 4% of 10% employee required contribution to OPERS.
