Lehi Part-Time Security Officer (Graveyard Shift)

Saturday 8 PM - Sunday 8 AM and Sunday 8 PM - Monday 8 AM, $16/hr

Summary:

Vivint requires the highest level of unarmed security to perform after-hours security services on nights weekends and holidays. Officers at all Vivint sites will be required to remain vigilant and conduct frequent patrols both on the interior and exterior of our facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Officers must be professional, mature, and customer service oriented.
• Officers will insure that all access points from the exterior are secured. Secured exterior and interior points will be checked throughout the shift to ensure security of personnel, property, and information.
• All officers will become familiar with Emergency Evacuation routes, exits, and evacuation assembly stations.
• Officers will assist in both the notification process in an emergency and in evacuation. Officers will become an integral part of Vivint’s Emergency Response Plans during the hours they are on site.
• Officers will be required to respond to all emergencies, security, safety, or medically related.
• Officers will be Corporate Security’s after-hours eyes and ears.
• Duties specified are not all inclusive and can be added to at the discretion of the Corporate Security Management team.
• Officers will initially receive a high level of training as the join the Corporate security team.

Training will include but is not limited to:

• All aspects of patrolling and response to safety, medical, and security situations
• Legalities
• Necessary use of force
• Proper Hygiene
• Command Presence
• Defensive tactics
• Interviewing
• In house technical resources
• Basic investigation
• Special event security
• Communication
• Verbal Judo and other similar de-escalation techniques
• Non-Violent Crisis intervention
• Emergency response
• First Aid, CPR, AED (Certified)
• Designated continued education as discussed with Corporate Security management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Officers with prior law enforcement experience/training or a military background as well as officers with an educational background in a security related field

Officers must show a demonstrated ability to provide great communication and customer service.

All Security Officers working for Vivint must meet specific physical capabilities to include:

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk continuously and be on feet for a minimum of an hour and up to the entire shift.
• Ability to jog/run for short distances
• Ability to climb stairs or ladders
• Height and Weight must be properly proportioned
• Binocular vision correctable to 20/30
• Normal hearing- ability to hear ordinary conversation and whispered ones.
• Officers must also have the ability to perform normal work functions that might require both moderate and difficult exertion.

Vivint enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe working environment. Each new employee is responsible for completing all training requirements. Additionally, the employee must accept they have responsibility for maintaining the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and the public. Employee must adhere to all written and verbal instructions, promptly report and correct all hazards or unsafe conditions, question non-standard operations or unmitigated hazards, and provide feedback to management on all safety issues.
