Security Supervisor
About the Job:
Ensures public safety in providing security and surveillance services by protecting life and property for tribal members, employees, and visitors. Supervises and coordinates the administrative work, dispatch, and the daily activities of the Security Guards.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Answers and directs calls for service from the community, tribal employees, and other agencies; prioritizes the calls and relays to patrol officers.
- Maintains contact with patrol officers responding to calls and provides informational assistance; accurate records, data and logging systems.
- Adheres to road conditions, detours, and weather information; locates and informs tribal members and employees of conditions, operations, and emergency situations.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of Security Guards; ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Provides security patrol of facilities and tribal lands and assigned areas to prevent theft, vandalism, burglaries, and other illegal criminal activity; performs opening and closing procedures of buildings.
- Collaborates with the Police Department and immediately reports any illegal or irregular criminal activities.
- Responds to calls for security assistance and conducts preliminary investigations to determine if incident warrants further investigation by the Police Department.
- Assists with roadblocks and patrol; provides assistance for fire, domestic calls, and emergencies.
- Patrols lands and lakes to ensure compliance to laws and regulations.
- Hosts staff briefings and prepares and submits reports as required.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) years of work experience in security, law enforcement or related work environment with one (1) year supervisory experience
- CPR and First Aid certified preferred
- Must have a valid, clean driver’s license
- Knowledge of traditional form of government, customs, and traditions
- Knowledge of security operations, principles, and practices including investigation, patrol, communications, records, community/public relations, and crime prevention
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
